Effective date: October 8, 2026
Privacy Policy
The short version: your code and projects never leave your device. VybeCode collects performance data only if you explicitly opt in, and nothing is ever sold or used for advertising.
This policy describes how VybeCode ("the app", "we") handles information when you use the VybeCode Android application and this website.
Your code stays on your device
VybeCode is a local development environment. Your source code, project files, terminal history, and editor settings are stored on your device and are never transmitted to us. If you configure an AI assistant extension with your own API keys, requests from that extension go directly to the provider you chose (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) under that provider's own terms and privacy policy — we are not part of that connection and never see your keys or prompts.
Opt-in performance tracking
VybeCode includes optional performance tracking to help us find crashes, slowdowns, and compatibility problems across devices. It is off by default. The app will ask once whether you want to share performance data, and you can change your choice at any time in the app's settings.
If — and only if — you opt in, we collect:
- Crash and error reports — stack traces and the app state needed to diagnose a failure.
- Performance metrics — startup time, frame timing, memory usage, and runtime (yroot) performance measurements.
- Device information — device model, chipset and GPU, Android version, and screen configuration (for example, whether a DeX or external display is attached).
- App information — app version and coarse feature usage, such as whether the terminal or an external display session was used.
Performance data never includes your source code, file names, file contents, terminal commands, API keys, or the contents of anything you type in the editor. Reports are associated with a randomly generated identifier, not with your name, email address, or any account.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising or share it with ad networks.
- We do not collect your location, contacts, or any data from other apps.
- We do not collect anything at all unless you opt in.
How performance data is used and kept
Opt-in performance data is used solely to fix bugs, improve performance, and decide which devices to support. It is kept only as long as needed for that purpose and no longer than 18 months, after which it is deleted or fully anonymized into aggregate statistics.
Security
If you opt in, performance data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on access-controlled infrastructure. No payment information, government identifiers, or account credentials are ever collected, so none can be exposed.
Accounts
VybeCode does not require or offer user accounts. There is no sign-up, login, or profile, and nothing in the app links your activity to your identity. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data; opt-in performance data already submitted can be deleted on request as described below.
Service providers
If you opt in, performance data may be processed by infrastructure providers acting on our behalf (for example, crash-reporting and hosting services). These providers process data only under our instructions for the purposes described here.
Your choices and rights
- Opt out any time — turn performance tracking off in the app's settings; collection stops immediately.
- Deletion — you can request deletion of previously submitted performance data by contacting us with your app's reporting identifier (shown in settings).
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete data under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.
Children
VybeCode is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it at this address and revise the effective date above. Material changes to what data is collected will require a fresh opt-in in the app.
